Internship Objective
The internship aims to provide the intern with hands-on experience in leveraging digital tools and technologies to enhance change management processes, improve operational effectiveness, and optimize risk management practices. The intern will engage with multidisciplinary teams to support initiativ
Programme Overview
This is a paid 7-week full-time internship programme stationing in our offices (IFC, Hung Hom or Quarry Bay), which you will have a first taste of business world via learning how to balance and support operational effectiveness with risk management strategies by active collaboration.
What will you go through?
You will be paired up with an existing team member of the departments and guided through the programme by the mentor and other business leaders of SMBC. Brief introduction will be provided by various business teams on Corporate Banking, Environment Social Governance (“ESG”) Initiative, Change Management and Operations & Risks Resilience. On-the-job training will be available throughout the entire programme with opportunities covering below aspects:
Change Management Initiatives: Assist in the planning and execution of change management strategies to support organizational direction in efficiency and resilience enhancement objectives.
Operational Efficiency Analysis: Analyse current operational processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements that enhance productivity and growth.
Risk Management & Data Governance: Assist to maintain data control in digital processes, risks, and change initiatives to ensure transparency and compliance through mitigating risks via assessments.
At the end of the training, you will be given an opportunity to present a designated topic assigned by business leader.

• University undergraduate in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Project Management, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines
• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with digital collaboration tools.
