Vice President -

Loan Capital Markets Dept, Asia Pacific - Distribution

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Loan Distribution, Business Strategy & Income Growth
• Drive distribution of syndicated loan opportunities to secure financing mandates for LCMA in North Asia.
• Execute distribution of loan assets in both primary and secondary markets, ensuring timely and successful sell-down.
• Drive collaborative engagement with internal stakeholders to enhance cross-sell and improve RWA
• Collaborate with LCMA Management to implement strategies that strengthen loan distribution capabilities and improve skim income.
• Take accountability for achieving assigned KPIs and contribute to strategic initiatives that support overall business objectives.
Senior Marketing & Complex Transactions
• Provide senior-level marketing support to business partners and assume ownership of complex non-recourse financing transactions (e.g., real estate, data centers, logistics, infrastructure, LBO).
• Prepare internal memos, transaction updates, and presentations to senior management
Cross-Border Collaboration
• Liaise with LCMA teams in other regions to expand cross-border collaboration and leverage global relationships for distribution opportunities.
Market Engagement & Industry Representation
• Actively participate in external industry bodies and forums to enhance SMBC’s loan distribution and syndicated loan franchise.
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
• Ensure full compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements, including maintaining registration as a RI under regulated activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/ Accounting/ Banking related disciplines
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial or banking markets, ideally within Syndications and Corporate Banking
• Good understanding of APAC loan markets, investor base, and regulatory frameworks
• Strong track record and experience in marketing and structuring non-recourse syndicated loans
• Established relationships with bank and institutional investors in the loan markets
• Ability to negotiate with and influence various parties on conflicting issues and to achieve consensus
• Good interpersonal, presentation, marketing and communication skills
• Driven personality with the highest level of personal and professional integrity and work ethic.
